Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

• What are the prerequisites?

Anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable swimming in water can earn their Open Water Diver certification

 • What will I do?

Throughout the course, you'll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You earn your Open Water certification card by completing two class and pool sessions and completing four open water dives.

• How long will it take?

This will depend on which option for classes you take. We offer both weeknight and weekend classes, along with 24/7 private executive

classes.  For the weeknight option, you will need to spend two days in class and pool sessions, which run from 6pm to 10pm, and then

complete four Open Water Evaluation Dives, which are normally the two days after the class and pool sessions (weather permitting).

For the weekend class, you will spend Friday night doing a class and pool session, which will run from 6pm to 10pm. On Saturday, you will

do another class and pool session in the morning, starting at 9am. At around 12pm or 1pm, you will go to Pearl Lake to complete the first of

your Open Water Evaluation Dives, and you will be done at about 4pm. On Sunday, from about 8am to 2pm, you will finish your remaining

             evaluation dives.

For 24/7 private classes, you may call to receive a quote on how much classes will cost for a certain date and time. +50$ for private pool sessions, +100$ for private open water sessions. After your class and pool sessions, along with your Open Water dives have been completed and verified, you will need to provide a picture   for your Open Water Certification card. Once your Open Water certification card has been printed, you may pick it up from our facility.

• What will I need to do and what do I need to bring to class?

All bookwork must be completed before your first class and pool session. Bring your own towel, swimsuit, and ink pen to the class and pool

               sessions.

  • How much does the course cost?

Our current special is $399 for your class, pool, and open water evaluation dives. This price includes all equipment rental, air fills, instructors time, as well as a May Special of $99 credit for equipment purchased at our shop!
